Wattage (Power) with VO2 & Anaerobic Threshold Testing
Power, Force, & Wattage Power is continually talked about in the cycling community.
Power Power is the ability to apply maximum force in the shortest amount of time.
Force Force is the ability of a muscle group to overcome a resistance.
Wattage When both are applied we have wattage. Cyclists usually mention that they have a weakness on hills, accelerations, riding at tempo, and limited sustainable endurance.
These are your physical limiters in your training and racing performance. By undergoing Wattage Testing in lieu of VO2/Anaerobic Threshold Testing, you are taking the next critical step in your training.
Wattage is a consistent number unlike heart rate which can change daily based upon previous days training, hydrations, elevation, heat, humidity, nutrition, medications, stress, duration of sleep, etc.
When you are training with a Power Meter you have a number that is consistent and will see strength, power, and force gains at a quicker rate than just training with heart rate; additionally, working with FIT Conditioning as your coach will help you take the unknown out of your training and put measureable data, results, and outcomes in your training.
